The Conservatorium gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support of the NSW Department of Education & Communities, Tamworth Regional Council, Tamworth Foundation for Musical Education and many individual supporters.
Since its establishment in 1984 the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music (TRCM) has aimed ‘to provide quality music education, accessible to all, enriching lives and the community.’ The conservatorium offers a range of music education programs from individual and group tuition to larger ensemble classes.
Housed in the former Dominican Convent building and affiliated with the University of New England (though not a tertiary facility itself), the conservatorium receives part funding from the New South Wales Department of Education and Communities and is strongly supported by the Tamworth Foundation for Musical Education as well as the business and private sectors of the local community.
Responsibility for the Conservatorium is vested in an incorporated skills-based Board of Management, all members of which serve in an honorary capacity. Running of the organisation is assumed by the Conservatorium Director. The Conservatorium gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support of the Department of Education and Communities and Arts NSW as well as additional support from the Tamworth Regional Council and the Tamworth Foundation for Musical Education.

Tamworth Foundation for Musical Education was launched in 1986 to secure the financial base of the Conservatorium. Funds were donated by local business partners and individuals and are managed by a Committee in association with a financial planner. The Foundation assists the Conservatorium with administration expenses.
The Friends of the Conservatorium provide financial assistance to the Conservatorium. The Friends also organise Winter Concerts, held in the Conservatorium Chapel during Terms 2 and 3. These concerts provide students with performance opportunities in a supportive and encouraging environment.
